Fees shall be based on estimates made by the department of the revenue required to implement this part and other provisions of law relating to the regulation of real estate appraisers. The fee for initial application of an appraiser may not exceed $150, and the combined cost of the application and examination may not exceed $300. The appraiser members shall be as representative of the entire industry as possible, and membership in a nationally recognized or state-recognized appraisal organization may not be a prerequisite to membership on the board.
